Lately I’ve noticed a trend towards more clients and potential clients interested in internet marketing. This makes me happy. I often tell people that while your website may not be the prettiest, if it works, then lets look at what we can do to increase traffic and conversion. We’ll look and see where the holes are and how to plug them and not just start with a brand new website. In many cases, the website itself might not be the actual problem and by making slight modifications for improvement, it will help a lot and cost a lot less than redeveloping an entire website.
I also see less and less people talking about traditional advertising and telling me that they’d rather spend money on online marketing. Again, a trend I like and think is a good way to go. Apparently, so does the rest of the world according to Forrester. Follow the link to see read the article and see the cool graphs. In essence, marketers are pulling cash from sources that don’t work and putting it into places that do, online marketing, social networking, etc.

The biggest gainers, and the reasons interactive advertising is gaining ground, are expected to be social marketing and mobile marketing platforms. With consumers flocking to hubs such as Facebook and Twitter each day, marketers are quickly becoming familiar with ways to create an on-going, social program to build loyalty with social consumers. The same can be said with mobile. Although consumers are still lagging, new devices like the iPhone will bring more and more consumers to the mobile web.
It’s nice to see the numbers as it all makes sense.
