We’re seeing a lot of businesses shutting doors or slowing down so much that there’s a risk of going out of business. No one wants to see that happen anytime soon. But there are ways to continue to market your business when it seems that customers have gone away.
Obviously, luxury items may be hard to sell these days, but, as we all know, life goes on. People still have birthdays and anniversaries and holidays are still coming closer each day (hint, Mother’s day is May 10). And, gift giving is a great way to stay connected to your friends and family that you can’t see right now.
Non-luxury items, things people want and need, are also key to make sure people know you have available.
So, how do you do this?
We think that online advertising is still a very viable option. People are home longer and spending more time on their phones scrolling and swiping. Since people aren’t coming to you, you need to be where they are and get in front of them.
Restaurants are still open for take out – place orders so they can stay in business and pay their employees.
Buy gift cards from local stores that can be used later, or buy from them online.
Don’t let the fear keep you from living as normal life as possible. But please obey the CDC guidelines.
There are several main avenues to use to get in front of your customers. Facebook/Instagram is probably the most important right now, followed by google Ads. Then you may consider Pinterest Ads or LinkedIn ads. Also look to your local chamber website to see if you can get listed there regardless of if you’re a member or not. (and don’t forget organic posting on your website, blog, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
You can find gobs of info on Facebook ads online, much of it can be complicated and confusing, especially if you’re new to Facebook advertising.
