Maybe you know this already, but when using an Ad ID to replicate a Facebook Ad, if you have a customized story/reels placement, it becomes a DCO ad, or Dynamic Creative Optimization ad in the new placement and doesn’t bring over the story/reels.
It has a longer URL with this after the Ad ID:
“?dco_ad_id=some_long_number”
History tells us that any changes to the ad loses all social proof.
But don’t worry, you can still use it.
Copy the Ad ID as normal and paste it in a new ad.
Then, customize your story/reels placement again by adding your story/reel image/video. Engagement in the Ad Preview disappears.
But save the ad, and engagement appears again!
As long as you don’t change copy or the main placement, you should be good to go.
